SPRING 2022 AUDITIONS!

Current members do not need to audition for the Spring Semester. 

Open auditions for new members will be held on Sunday January 9, 2022. 

Rehearsals:

When and where?

Each Sunday from 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM, beginning September 19th thru November 14th.

Concerts

FALL CONCERT:
Monday, November 15 @ 7pm at Wylie HS Performing Arts Center

SPRING CONCERT:
Monday, April 11 @ 7pm at Cooper HS Auditorium

MISSION STRINGS: A STRING PREP PROGRAM
Who can join?

Anyone in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade who would like to learn how to play an orchestral string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass).

Instruments?

Parents and students are invited to come learn about our program and choose an instrument! Rental options will be available as well. Read more on our Join page.

Classes/Performances:

Classes will be held on Sundays, from 2:30PM – 3:30 PM starting September 12th at the ACU Williams Performing Arts Center.

A first semester showcase will take place during the Abilene Youth Orchestra Concert on Nov. 15th!

UPDATED COVID-19 Protocols:

For the safety of everyone and to comply with ACU recommendations, we will require that everyone involved with AYO and Mission: Strings wear a mask while inside the buildings at ACU.  Social distancing is highly recommended and sanitizing stations will be available.
 
Wind players will NOT be required to wear a player’s mask while playing their instruments, but will need to wear a mask while they are resting or on break.  Bell covers are required.  If you do not have a bell cover one will be provided for you.
 
Strings and percussion will be required to wear a mask during the entirety of auditions and rehearsals.  If you have any questions surrounding these protocols please contact our office at 325.677.6710
